Christmas traditions were celebrated at the 10 anniversary of Christmas Near The Beach 2016. Established in 2007, this Hollywood festivity amazed audience with extravagant talent. “We were more than blessed by the amazing gifts displayed by the artists this year!”-Director and founder of Christmas Near The Beach, Deena McDaniel. St. Nick is always a big hit, and this year, St. Nick joined the Zumba flash mob along with Grinchy and Zumba instructors to rock the audience. There was a frenzy of fun with thousands attending making this South Florida Christmas tradition shine once again.
Every year there’s a surprise for the audience. Hundreds of beach balls flooded the crowd and the party continued with DJ. Mr. E. dancing and spinning killer tunes as part of the celebration. A host of angels from “Many But One” ballet company filled the stage as a hush fell upon the crowd. Then the live Nativity took the stage. St. Nick presented a gift to Baby Jesus who displayed a wide grin as Mary and Joseph beamed with joy.
Throughout the night, the WONDER of Christmas filled the air. Every year Christmas Near The Beach brings a free festival to the communities of South Florida. This celebration uses local artists and highlights their gifts and talents. The Village Hymns were new to the stage this year and did not disappoint. While the tradition of a rollerblading Grinchy got laughs, the exceptional talent of the Christmas ballet presentation from “Many But One” had several onlookers in tears. The impact of a drama keeps the message strong through the months to come. The ballet company tours throughout South Florida and Christmas Near The Beach is honored to have them each year.
And don’t forget the crazy beginning, the Guinness Book of World Record attempt of “Most People Caroling.” We didn’t quite reach the numbers that were needed; however, those who caroled throughout Downtown Hollywood had a great experience spreading Christmas cheer for all to hear. “We’re always planning the next big thing and look out Hollywood plans for 2017 continue all year long.” -McDaniel stated.
