EPIC The Band is an up-and-coming, Christian band located in Miami. Jazz is alive in South Florida and Jesse Jones Jr. is here to prove it. The Miami native is a saxophonist extraordinaire and continues to be on the forefront of a burgeoning jazz renaissance in South Florida. Jesse Jones Jr. is one of those hidden treasures that you can’t help but to share with the world. A phenomenal reed player, Jesse is technically superior on the alto, soprano and baritone saxophone, as well as flute. He combines the hard-bop influence of Cannonball Adderley, the funk of Hank Crawford, and the sweetness of Paul Desmond. Their influences may be detected within Jesse’s riffs. Add to that some of the most unusual “scat” jazz singing when Jesse sings “straight” or through his horns, and the jazz audiences go wild. The humor is international in scope since these are not words but rather sounds that move and groove with the music. His ability to captivate the audience with the classics, and adapt them to his own swinging interpretations, is legendary. “I can only thank God for His blessings. The JJRC Band
The JJRC Band is first and foremost a family affair.
Husband & wife, singer-songwriter duo Jeff & Christine Maldonado, have joined forces with their son Jonas Maldonado and his fiancé Rachel Glen, for a very special evening in Downtown Hollywood, to perform at this year’s Christmas Near The Beach (CNTB) community Christmas Concert.
Jeff & Christine are best known for their melodic harmony filled folk-rock band THE AMERICAN POETS, as well as being members of Capitol Records Praise & Worship recording artist HOUSE OF PEACE. Jeff & Christine have developed a loyal following, by performing extensively for more than a decade throughout South Florida, and have toured throughout various parts of the United States. CNTB holds a special place in Jeff & Christine’s heart, having been a part of this family friendly Christmas event ever since its inception, which aims to bring the community together for a fun and entertaining night, with a focus on bringing awareness to the true meaning of Christmas.
This year’s CNTB performance will be extra special for Jeff and Christine, as they will be sharing the stage with son Jonas Maldonado and his fiancé Rachel Glen.
Jonas and Rachel are a strong musical duo in their own right. As Worship Leaders for several years at New Testament Baptist Church, they are both well steeped in giving praise to God through song.
Performing together for the first time as The JJRC Band, they will be singing God’s praises, like only a family can, with a sincere yearning to evoke the true spirit of Christmas in hearts of the community at this year’s Christmas Near The Beach!
