The American Poets are “Modern Americana” singer/songwriter duo Jeff & Christine Maldonado. During their first several years together, Jeff & Christine performed extensively in South Florida, as well as various regions throughout the U.S. to promote their first album of acoustic/folk songs under their former name “The Providence”. They quickly developed a large following of dedicated fans and were widely respected and regarded as a vital force on South Florida’s music scene. It was during this time that they drew the attention of various local radio stations and t.v. programs, and were invited to perform on several live broadcasts. Soon after, they were chosen to perform on a nationally televised talent program, and subsequently had their songs featured in several independent films. Through all the buzz that was being generated, they landed a much sought after opportunity to perform at the prestigious “Bluebird Cafe” in Nashville, and also at “B.B. King’s Blues Club” in Memphis.
When the time came to record their second album, Jeff & Christine wanted to expand their sonic horizons, and create a more diverse, dynamic and powerful sound. Therefore, they decided to recruit the help of Orlando Machado, who is a well known and highly acclaimed drummer in South Florida, in order to achieve their new sound. Together, along with the help of various other talented local musicians, Jeff & Christine recorded their second CD of all original music under their new band name, “The American Poets”. The American Poets perform as an acoustic duo, showcasing some of their most loved original songs, as well as their unique versions of some of yesterday’s & today’s most popular hits, and also perform as a full band. The American Poets CD entitled “Light Of Life”, is available on iTunes, Rhapsody, & CDBaby.com.
Back by popular demand… The Angel Tones Steel Drum Band! They’ll take you to the islands with their steel drums and their lively performance! The steel drum originated on the Caribbean island of Trinidad in 1946 and is the only acoustic musical instrument invented in the 20th century. Steel drums are made right from used oil drums. The Angel Tones Steel Band is from Fourth Avenue International Worship Center directed by Pan Paradise artist, Dexter Brown. He wittingly directed teenagers with no prior experience to the enviable position of two-time State Champions, they went on to compete internationally for the Church of God Teen Talent competition in which they won the steel drum competition in San Antonio, Texas Alamo Dome and at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
Dexter is a valued and prominent community leader, who has used his musical ingenuity to instruct young people in music at the Upper Room Christian Academy and Davie Elementary. Additionally, he vigorously volunteers his time and resources in teaching the youth at the Fourth Avenue International Worship Center, the creative art of playing music on the steel pan instruments.
Dexter has several attractive credits to his name. He has arranged and directed music for several elementary and high school students in the South Florida region.
Billy the Marlin is the official mascot of the Miami Marlins baseball franchise. At 8 feet tall and 250 pounds, he is “a natural-born clown and good-natured prankster“.He appears at every Marlins home game at Sun Life Stadium and Marlins Park, and performs his own routine in the middle of the 5th inning.
LOOK for Billy at 6 pm to 7pm at Christmas Near the Beach.
The Marlin’s Street Team will have a table filled with giveaways, but brush up on Marlin trivia for prizes!
As a worship leader in South Florida and a husband with two children, Josh has a heart that longs to help the church learn how to worship our Lord through Scripture. Teaching scripture through song has become his way of leading the body of Christ into worship.
When Ashley Briggs starts singing it’s like listening to a blend of The Band Perry, Martina McBride and Shania Twain. In fact, if you were to judge by the clarity and control of her voice alone, you’d find it hard to believe this South Florida country singer is still a teenager. Taking the stage in skirts and heels—her boots were made for dancing not singing—and entertaining audiences from one to 21,000 is what this petite blonde with ice-blue eyes and sunny smile lives to do.
From Nashville open mics and packed sports stadiums, to her regular three-hour show at The Sands Harbor Resort and Marina in Pompano Beach, Florida and the Plaza stage at Cruzan Amphitheatre for Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, and Luke Bryan, Ashley has over 220 performances in the last 24 months to her credit. Ashley also sings with her church worship team on Sundays!
As a songwriter in her own right, Ashley has co-written with well-known industry pros and producers from Florida to Tennessee, and her original inspirational song “FLY” was featured in the Hallmark Channel’s TV show Cedar Cove.
Ashley knows that her voice is a gift from God and believes in honoring him by singing to the people and the Heavens. When Ashley is not performing she likes to line dance, play tennis, mentor middle school girls at her church and relax at the beach.
You can find where and when Ashley is performing on her website www.ashleybriggsmusic.com under the events heading, or her facebook Ashley Briggs Music.
“She’s a natural entertainer with a pristine voice and a classy demeanor that all ages gravitate towards.” Mike Carroll, President, South Florida Country Music

This 19 year old talent serves as one of many praise and worship leaders at Redeeming Word Christian Center Int’l of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Jalisa Faye’s main goal is to bring Jesus to people. She prays that you hear God through her music.
